1. A member of the International Society of Osteopathic Practice Inc., shall be expected to maintain a standard of conduct which upholds the standard of the profession of Osteopathy.
2. A member shall support fellow members at all times. Any complaints about fellow members shall be directed to the Society in writing.
3. A member shall submit advertising material to the Society before publication. Any news release by a member which mentions the Society must be cleared with the Society executive before publication.
4. A member shall recognise an obligation towards their patient at all times, and practise Osteopathy to the best of their ability for the benefit of their patient. The comfort and welfare of the patient must always have priority.
5. The confidence of the patient, and diagnostic findings acquired during consultation, or in the course of professional treatment, shall not be divulged to anyone without the patient's consent except where required by law, or where failure to take action would constitute a menace or danger to the patient or another member of the community. The Society should be involved in any matters concerning divulgence of confidential information.
6. The members' premises or clinic should be maintained in a condition reflecting the high standard of the profession and be open to inspection by appproved members of the execurive if required.
7. Graduate members shall be entaitled to add the letters I.S.O.P. after their name on business cards and stationery.
8. Graduate members are encouraged to treat each other on a recipocal basis.
